Let’s support the team who deliver our health care!

Health care workers want quality public care for you and your family.

But right now, health care in British Columbia is under a lot of strain, making it harder for patients and workers.

When we support health care workers, we make care better for everyone.

Health care workers like care aides, clerical, trades and security are a vital part of the team delivering health care in B.C.

They love their jobs and want to be there for British Columbians in their care.

But they also feel the impact of the strain on the system.

Public health care matters to everyone in B.C.

We all want it to be there when we need it but right now a lot of people are worried it won’t be.

Our patients, seniors, loved ones all deserve the best care possible.

The staffing crisis is getting in the way of better health care and that means:

  • Patients waiting longer for care
  • Unsafe workloads leading to injury
  • Workers stretched thin, causing burnout and turnover

Health care workers are trying their best, but they can’t do it alone.

In the last few years, the B.C. government has made progress on some of the big issues in health care and we’ve got to keep going.

Making health care better starts by taking care of workers

There’s a lot more to do to make health care better for people, for patients, for seniors.

It starts by supporting workers so they can deliver the care we all need.

Keeping and attracting health care workers is the best investment B.C. can make to improve health care and seniors’ care.

We’re calling on health employers and the government to work together with HEU and other health care unions to strengthen public health care across our province.

We need to implement common standards across health care to keep and attract the workers we need.

These standards include paying fair wages.

Plus, we must ensure we have safer workplaces, to prevent injuries and reduce violence.

Health care workers have one focus. They want to deliver the best public health care for people.

And better working conditions lead to better care for everyone.
